Is there any software that I need to install?
No. My Rehab Office is entirely internet based. This means that you do not have to
install any software, perform any manual updates, or worry about any locally stored data.
Is My Rehab Office HIPAA complaint? Is the data safe and secure online?
Yes. We have taken every measure to ensure data safety and patient file security. All
users are required to have individual login names and passwords. The data connection
utilizes https technology (SSL / secure socket layer encryption). This is the same type of
data encryption used by online banking sites, so it can be trusted with your patient data as
well. All HIPAA procedures for online documentation have been instituted to ensure that
only providers who are part of the patient’s care team can access the patient data.
Are there any advantages of a web-based system over a software-based system?
Yes. With an internet based system you can access your data from any computer with
an internet connection. All of the updates are free. There is no software to install. There
are no specific hardware requirements. Your data is automatically backed up so you
don’t have to worry about theft or destruction of your computer causing a loss of data.
For rehab managers, you can keep tabs on your clinic with access to reports and charts
from anywhere in the world. Fax from internet capability means that you never have to
print out forms to fax to physicians; you can do so directly from the website. Our web-
based system is also the most intuitive and easy to use application available, meaning
less start up time and the ability to get new therapists up and running more quickly.
How is my data secured?
There are several different ways your data is secured. Access is restricted only to
authorized and authenticated users. Access is controlled by the role based privileges
granted in the database to the Therapists/Assistants assigned by you to a patient. Firewall
safeguards are in place to deny intrusions and unauthorized access. Password and
personal information are encrypted and stored in the database.
How long will it take to learn how to use the program?
My Rehab Office has been designed for ease of use with an intuitive layout. Users can
often get up and running immediately without instruction. Of course you can count on
our support anytime; we are there to assist you!
I have several therapists in my practice. Will My Rehab Office work for me?
Yes. My Rehab Office was designed to expand to as many therapists as you have
working with you.
I have a solo private practice. Will My Rehab Office work for me?
Yes. My Rehab Office will work just as well for small practices. It is a great way to get
started quickly and efficiently in a new private practice.
Does My Rehab Office support Occupational Therapists as well as PTs?
Yes. My Rehab Office offers documentation capabilities for both physical and
occupational therapists.
Does My Rehab Office support Physical and Occupational Therapy Assistants?
Yes. My Rehab Office allows for multiple therapists and assistants to be assigned to a
particular patient. This allows both therapists and assistants to document as needed in
patient treatment files while maintaining records appropriately for documentation and
billing.
What if I choose to discontinue the service? What happens to my patient data?
If you have been a subscribing customer for at least 6 consecutive months, we will create and send to you a digital copy of your patient files in accessible format and organized for easy retrieval and viewing.
Does My Rehab Office offer a billing program?
We chose to focus on the clinical documentation aspects of EMR. Although we do not
offer a billing component, we will be offering integration with certain online billing sites
